OG Kush

OG Kush, also known as "Premium OG Kush," has a rich history dating back to its cultivation in Florida in the early ‘90s. Legend has it that it originated from a cross between a marijuana strain from Northern California, Chemdawg, Lemon Thai, and a Hindu Kush plant from Amsterdam. This combination resulted in a hybrid with a unique terpene profile characterized by a complex aroma with hints of fuel, skunk, and spice. The name "OG" in OG Kush often stands for "Original Gangster," which could refer to either the strain's authenticity or its intense effects. True to its name, OG Kush typically emits a scent reminiscent of lemon, pine, and fuel, with a high THC content that delivers a balanced head and body effect. It's often preferred for consumption in the latter part of the day to alleviate stress and unwind. OG Kush's significance in the world of cannabis is profound, particularly on the West Coast, where it serves as the genetic backbone for many popular varieties. Its journey to Los Angeles in 1996, brought by Matt “Bubba” Berger, also introduced "The Bubba," a strain that later gave rise to the renowned Bubba Kush. Since then, OG Kush has become a staple worldwide, playing a pivotal role in the creation of other famous strains like Girl Scout Cookies (GSC) and Headband. Variations of OG Kush, known as phenotypes, include Tahoe OG, SFV OG, and Ghost OG, each offering unique nuances while retaining the core characteristics that have made OG Kush a beloved classic in the cannabis community.
